A Pray To Find A Job

PRAYER for EMPLOYMENT: God, our Father, I turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as I look for suitable employment. I need your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the right path, and to lead me to find the proper things to say and do in this quest. I wish to use the gifts and talents you have given me, but I need the opportunity to do so with gainful employment. Do not abandon me, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant me this favor I seek so that I may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance. Grant this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Jesus brought me home (Testimony by Mr. Sylvester Linus)

Jesus brought me home
Praise Jesus! Finally, arrived home safely after 3 days traveling with full of surprises, longer time than the usual flight route! Stranded in Dubai for 15 hours, ended up paying hotel bill at Dubai, buying new ticket at Brunei airport to catch up early flight to kKIA which initially booked by company to fly home at 6pm...and the disaster part is i lost my passport! For the first time in my life this is happening!

I lost all traveling documentation -my passport, boarding pass, master card, local bank card...at Cape Town International airport...this is all happened just 45 minutes before boarding time... Panic...feel hopeless. What makes thing more difficult is Cape Town International Gates doesn't have information counter... What a place! Airlines Lounges didn't know how to deal with that kind of situation and the immigration officer as well as the Airline crew told me I can't board the flight without these documentations...i was so angry to myself..I don't remember where I put it! I keep walking back and forth, enters every shops and toilets asking the same people only to find a disappointing response "So sorry man, I don't see any passport wallet, pity you..." From the immigration officer, Airline crew, shops attendance even the toilet cleaner before digging a rubbish bins.

I didn't expecting thing like this to happen as I'm always careful when comes to time management and preparation on documentation. Obviously not this time! I could only told Jesus I didn't prepared to face this trouble. And I wanna go home. During the time i don't know what to pray so I prayed in tongue whilst walking and searching.

After all of these still the result is disappointing. By this time, the queue to A5 gate is now became longer and longer about 50 meters... 5 minutes before the gate open, I sat down. Try to recall back where i put the passport wallet. What i read from Pastor Joseph Prince devotional's book earlier is gone. In sadness i took out the book from my ruck sack but this time I just randomly open without looking onto the date. This is what the contents that makes me calm and REST after finished my reading...

Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty"

In the Old Testament, there was a place where God met with His people. In Exodus 25:22, God said, "And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony..." this place was above the mercy seat of the ark of the covenant, under the wings of the two cherubim. The Psalmist calls it "the secret place of the Most High...under the shadow of the Almighty".

The mercy seat covered the ark which contained the three emblems if man's rebellion: the golden pot of manna - man's rebellion against God's provision, two tablets of stone on which God wrote the Ten Commandments - man's rebellion against God's standard, and Aaron's rod - man's rebellion against God's authority. Once a year on the Day of Atonement, the high priest wold sprinkle the blood of the sacrificed animal on the mercy seat and so make propitiation for the sins of Israel.

Today, it is not the blood of animals that makes propitiation for our sins, but the holy blood of the Son of God. (Romans 3:24-25) The word for "propitiation" in the original Greek text is "hilasterion", which actually means "mercy seat". So Christ is our mercy seat. His blood speaks for us and puts God on our side. God does not see our rebellion. He sees the blood of His Son and accepts us!

This is why we can come boldly to the secret place of the Most High, in Christ, and feel secure that we have every right to be in God's presence. We can come boldly to Him to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrew 4:6).

And because of Christ, our mercy seat, covers us with His blood, we are UNDER God's PROTECTION. We are in the secret place of the Most High, abiding under the shadow of the Almighty.mhere, NO evil will befall us, nor will any plague come near our dwelling. (Psalm 91:9-10) In the secret place of the Most High, we are FAVORED AND KEPT SAFE FROM ALL HARM!

Thought for the day "Because Christ, our mercy seat, covers us with His blood, we are under God's protection and favor".

Just after i finished reading this part i prayed this prayer, "LORD JESUS, I WILL REST IN YOUR HANDS BECAUSE IF I WORK YOU REST, AND IF I REST YOU WORK. I LEAVE EVERYTHING INTO YOUR HANDS BECAUSE YOU HAVE GONE AHEAD OF ME PREPARED EVERYTHING FOR TODAY, IN JESUS NAME I PRAYED, AMEN.

After a while an announcement made by the Airline "This is not a boarding announcement, we apologies for the delayed to board flight EK771 due to late arrival of the flight from previous destination. Please remain seated until further announcement, thank you". This what came in mind and I asked Jesus, "Lord Jesus, are You going to delay this flight until I get my passport?"

few minutes later, another announcement was made but this time for somebody else -problems of his flight ticket... And again i told Jesus, "Lord, when it's mine?"...

Finally, the third announcement i heard loud and clear my name was called to gate A5 and by this time the queue was even longer than before... I was walking with faith that God has my passport ready with EVERYTHING still on hands - credit card, bank card, flyer card etc... And true enough, when I reached the counter the lady handed over my passport wallet and told me "someone" send it to her after found it from one of the shops.. Hallelujah!! You know what, God has kept EVERYTHING inside my passport wallet, not a single papers missing as well as the important cards...

I praised God for the rest of my journey thinking about His goodness, His protection and His favored to me..Name above all names, You a worthy of all praise and my heart will sing how great is our God!. Here's the song repeated in my MP3... indeed "HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD". Now here i am at home enjoying my time with family!

Through Small Things

Several years ago a young priest moved to London. He often took the bus from his home to the downtown area. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride a bus. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him twenty pence too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, ‘you better give the twenty pence back. It would be wrong to keep it’.

Then he thought, ‘Oh forget it, it’s only twenty pence.’
Who would worry about this little amount?
Anyway, the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from the Almighty, and keep quiet’.

When his stop came, the priest paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the twenty pence back to the driver and said: “Here, you gave me too much change.”

The driver with a smile replied: “Aren’t you the new parish priest in this area? I have been thinking lately about going to worship at your Church. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change.”

When the young priest stepped off the bus, his knees became weak and soft. He had to grab the nearest light pole and held for support, and looked up to the heavens and cried:

“Oh my Jesus, I almost sold your Christianity for twenty pence!”

We may never see what impact our actions have on people… Sometimes we are the only “Bible” someone will ever read, or the only Christianity someone will see. What we need to provide is an example for others to see. Be careful of how you behave, and be honest always: you never know who is watching your actions.
